TASTING
We are delighted to finally be able to offer you a new coffee from Honduras, it's been a long time! It will give you a classic cup perfect for espresso while having a nice clarity that will bring a bit more complexity than most Mexican or Brazilian for example. If you are a fan of La Sève but have never tried one of our coffees from the Récolte series: now is the time!
In tasting: quality dark chocolate with a high percentage of cocoa, a nice sensation of toasted sugar reminiscent of the Mackintosh toffee bars of our childhood and in the finish, notes of pecans which perfectly complete the tasting.
ORIGIN
Among its neighbors, Honduras has quietly become the bigger producer, exporting more volume than any other nation in the region, and the seventh overall in the world for exports. While there is certainly quantity coming out of Honduras, it can be harder to find truly quality coffees here, though, because the country lacks the infrastructure to support the more nuanced specialty market its neighbors enjoy.
We are therefore extremely grateful to have been able to get our hands on the top-quality coffees of Mirna Lizeth Dominguez Marquez who cultivates more than 16,000 coffee trees on her farm of 5 manzanas. After harvest, the coffee is fermented for 15 hours to remove the mucilage. It is cleaned and then dried for 13 days on African raised beds.
DRINKING
It is hard to recommend anything other than espresso for this coffee! Tasting notes combine in a rich, creamy texture for an experience reminiscent of dark chocolate pecan pie. Perfect with milk.
